Problems of Teaching Large Classes

Most of the teachers say that they don't like to teach large classes and they consider it as a problem for them.  These teachers face many problems while teaching large classes such as forgetting students' names, meeting each student's needs will be very difficult, taking long time for grading assignments and tests, facing management problems because the teachers may  not be able to control the large classes, facing difficulties in keeping students on task as they monitor pair or group work, no enough space or there is a limited space in the classroom for energetic activities like role play, the additional effort that the teachers have to make even without any rewards, and also keeping students engaged in the learning process might be very difficult to the teachers that believe teaching large classes is a problem.  Thus, those teachers who hate to teach large classes have to try to see the positive side of teaching these classes and also see the missed positive things and activities that they can do and enjoy in teaching large classes.

  1. We cant deny that teaching large classes is a bit difficult for a teacher, but it wont be that difficult if this teacher knows how to deal with such a class. The teacher must at first change the idea they have in mind that they are not able to teach a large class. Also the teacher can use many techniques that involves cooperative work, such techniques are excellent in dealing with these classes and students would enjoy these activities, and thus less distraction would happen. As you said these are many positive effects and sides for teaching large classes that a teacher must keep in mind.
