Good personal relationships between teachers and students rapid
and facilitate the learning process.
Positive teacher- student relationships are important to students’ achievement
because they impact the climate and management of a classroom. One of the most important things that affect
the relationship between teacher and students is the students’ feeling in the
class. The students must feel respected,
engaged, and appreciated. This will
increase their productive and attentive. For this reason, the teacher should be
aware of how to deal with the students, when to be strict with them and when to
have fun with them. The teacher should acknowledge her students by
standing in front the class and greeting students individually as they enter
the class every day. She should notice
when the students are not participating and encouraging them students to
participate and maintaining eye contact with them through explaining and while
they are giving answers. Also, she should
respond to their answers by giving feedback such as paraphrasing what they said,
giving nonverbal responses, or praising them for a specific great thing they
did.
