An Effective Teacher

An effective teacher is the one who would do anything to make his/her students master the learning targets.  No matter what model they use or theory they follow, their single concern is whether the students are really learning or not.  For sure, this is not an easy task.  A teacher should be aware to the students’ needs as well as the type of lesson itself.  One of the most important characteristics of a good teacher is being clear in whatever she accomplishes in the classroom.  Teaching for understanding and clarity can be highly correlated.  This can be illustrated as to make sure that your students understand what is required.  Thus, we can say that clarity is the foundation or the prerequisite for understanding.  Also, the teacher should be a facilitator for knowledge.  She should create an atmosphere of joy and happiness in the classroom.  She should always try to send her students the three important messages.  These three messages are “this is important”, “you can do it”, and “I would not give up on you”.  Then the student will be motivated and interested for learning new information.
